In Loving Memory

HOLTERMAN Dorothy Adeline Holterman, age 92, of Jefferson City, formerly of Freeburg, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Jefferson City. She was born August 27, 1915, at Freeburg, a daughter of Anton Henry and Antonette (Pohl) Schlueter. Mrs. Holterman was united in marriage on October 4, 1933, at Freeburg, to Fred Henry Holterman, and to this union one daughter was born. Mrs. Holterman was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and while living in Jefferson City attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. During her working life she had been a waitress at Mr. Jack's Café, Freeburg, for eight years as well as being a devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Her lifelong dream was achieved in 2000 when her famous dressing recipe was developed into the "Cool and Zesty" Dressing Company, Jefferson City. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Holterman include: one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Bud Picker, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Susan York, Kansas City, and Steve Picker and partner, Brian, Jefferson City; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas York and Michael York, both of Kansas City; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 10, 1998; one grandson, Gregory Picker in 1977; her father on August 31, 1960; her mother on March 27, 1988; two infant brothers, Norbert Schlueter and Joseph Schlueter; and three sisters, Delphine Melies, Della Poettgen, and Rosalyn Viessman. Visitation for Mrs. Holterman will be Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in the Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison Street, Jefferson City, and Monday, June 9, 2008 from 9-10 a.m., in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Holterman at 10 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2008, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte, Jefferson City, officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg. Memorials Masses are preferred by the family. All arrangements are under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
